In MeLand we play with the word Me and the person Me. It is important for you to be aware that the Me you call yourself is separate from every person who calls himself/herself Me. There are two ways that helps you be aware you are separate: 1. Stand in a hula hoop. As the hula hoop surrounds you so your space surrounds you. 2. Draw circles on a blank page from your notebook. Print the word Me in each one and your name beside one of them. Identify the other circles with a name: Friends, Mom, Dad, Brother(s) and Sister(s).. . . Remember: You are Free to be the Me that you are. ACTIVITIES: 1. Draw a hula hoop in your MeLand Notebook and imagine you are in it. 2. Stand in a hula-hoop as you sing the Hula-hoop Song. 3. Share and Care....Connect with others who are also standing in hula-hoops. Hold someone’s hula hoop. 4. Play a group relay game with 2 hula-hoops. Count 1 – 2. One’s are one team. Two’s are the other team. Have a starting point and an ending point. All the Me’s stand at the ending point except 2. These 2 stand at the starting point and hold hula-hoops, At the sound of a whistle, they run to the ending point to collect two Me’s. The four Me’s hang onto the hula-hoop and return to the starting point. The Me’s that were collected now go to the ending point and collect two other Me”s....the four Me’s hang onto the hula-hoop and run to the starting point. This continues until all Me’s at the ending point are at the starting point. The team who has all Me’s at the starting point first wins the relay game. Go to next page: Me is Who I am |
